Wedding Season

אני מתה על העונה הזו בשנה. האוויר כבר חמים, בגדי הקיץ יוצאים מהארון ואת המקרר שלי מעטרות שלל הזמנות לחתונות. אני יודעת שלא כולם מרגישים כמוני, אבל אני פשוט אוהבת חתונות; אוהבת להשתתף בהתרגשות של הזוג, לראות מה יבחרו ללבוש, איך יקשטו את המקום ונהנית מההזדמנות למסיבה טובה. אבל הכי כיף בעונת החתונות, זה לפגוש את עשרות הכלות שבאות להתחדש אצלי בחנות לקראת היום הגדול. אספתי עבורכם 5 כלות מקסימות במיוחד, שמספרות על החתונה שלהן. אם אתן מתחתנות בקרוב, אני בטוחה שהן יעוררו בכן השראה.

I absolutely love this time of the year. The weather is warm, the summer clothes come out of the closet and my refrigerator is filled with many wedding invitations. I know that not everyone feels as I do, but I just LOVE weddings; I love the feeling of excitment for the couple's big day, to see what they chose to wear and how they've decorated the place and I always enjoy a good party. But the thing I find most fun about the wedding season is to meet many beautiful brides, who come to my stores to to choose their jewelry and accessories for their wedding day. I have collected for you 5 charming brides, sharing pictures and stories from their wedding. If you're getting married soon, I'm sure they'll inspire you.

עדי דניאל-גולן, בת 29 מקיבוץ גבעת חיים איחוד

לפני 8 שנים הגיעה עדי לקיבוץ כדי לעבוד במערכת החינוך ופגשה את ענבר, בן המקום. הם התאהבו ובקיץ האחרון התחתנו בקיבוץ, באופן סמלי בסמוך לפינת החי בה הכירו. עדי, חובבת אמנות ויצירה, עיצבה את החתונה הצנועה בסגנון של פעם.

עדי מספרת: "מה שהיה מיוחד בחתונה שלנו היה שהכנו וארגנו הכל בעצמנו ובעזרת חברים ומשפחה- את העיצוב, את טקס החופה (שהיה אזרחי), את החופה עצמה (מבד שסבתא שלי סרגה), את ההזמנה חברה טובה עיצבה לי ואפילו את הקינוחים חברות שלי הכינו והיה מעדן". 

Adi Daniel-Golan, 29, Kibbutz Giv'at Haim Ichud

Eight years ago, Adi came to the kibbutz to start working in the education system and there she met Inbar, born and raised in the kibbutz. They fell in love and got married last summer on a kibbutz, symbolically near the petting zoo where they first met. Adi, an arts-and-crafts-kind-of-girl, designed her modest wedding in a beautiful, antique style. 

Adi says: "What was special about our wedding was that we prepared and organized everything by ourselves, with the help of our friends and family; The entire design, including the wedding ceremony, was true to who we are. The Huppah was made of fabric my grandmother knitted, the invitation was designed by a good friend of mine and even the desserts were prepared by my friends and were so delicous!"

"לבשתי שמלה של פישנדג פשוטה ועדינה עם מעט תחרה וסרט סאטן עדין. מבחינת תכשיטים היה לי ברור שהם יהיו של שלומית. כדי לשבור את הלבן, היו לי נעלי עקב בצבע טורקיז. לכן, קניתי עגילים צמודים בצורת פרח בצבע תואם והוספתי זר פרחים עדין על הראש. צמיד עדין שנראה כמו אדוות במים הוסיף ללוק העדין שבחרתי. לא תכננתי מראש מה לקנות, פשוט הגעתי לחנות של שלומית, כי ידעתי ששם אני בטוח אמצא משהו שאני אוהב וכך היה".

What did you wear?

"I wore a Fishndag dress, which was simple and gentle and had a bit of lace and a satin ribbon. When I thought about jewelry, it was very clear to me that they would be Shlomit's. To break the whites, I bought turquoise stilettos. To match their color, I chose turquoise flower-shaped post earrings and added a floral wreath on top of my head. A delicate bracelet, shaped as water ripples was my pick to complete the look. I didn't plan in advance, I just came in one of Shlomit's store,  because I knew that's where I could find jewelry I like and so it was. "

"The fact that everything I planned worked out perfectly (even things people didn't think we could make happen...)"  

 

דנה גל, בת 32 מתל-אביב

דנה הכירה את גלעד, בעלה, דרך אפליקציה בפייסבוק, אליה שניהם הגיעו מסיבות שונות (ומשונות) וטוב שכך; הם הכירו והתאהבו, וכשהחליטו להתחתן, הם ידעו בדיוק מה הם מחפשים- מקום שיתאים לסגנון ולאופי שלהם. הם מצאו אותו בדרום תל-אביב, בחלל האורבני המיוחד של קסטיאל, אליו הוזמנו 300 מוזמנים (רובם הגדול חברים). 

Dana Gal, 32, Tel Aviv

Dana met Gilad, her husband, through a Facebook App, which both logged in for different reasons; Good thing came out of this app, because they met and fell in love. When they decided to marry, they knew exactly what they were looking for- a place that suits their style and character. They found it in South Tel Aviv, in the unique urban space of Kastiel, where they invited 300 people (most of them were friends).

"לבשתי שמלה של אלון ליבנה ונעלי קרם ועגילים של שלומית אופיר. הסגנון שבחרתי הוא יווני ועל כן בחרתי בצמיד, תסרוקת ושמלה מתאימים." 

What did you wear?

"I wore a Alon Livne dress and cream pair of shoes from Shlomit's collection. The entire look I seeked for was Greek. Therefore, I picked up a bracelet, a hairdo and a dress that match everything perfectly."

"שלא התפשרנו ויצרנו אירוע שתאם בדיוק לאופי שלנו. נהניתי מהטעימות של הקייטרינג, שהיה מדהים. הזמינו אותנו לארוחת ערב קסומה וזה היה רגע אינטימי ומיוחד של שתי המשפחות, רגע לפני הטירוף של החתונה." 

What did you enjoy the most about your wedding day?

"That we didn't compromise and were able to create an event that matched our sense of style. I really enjoyed our amazing catering. We were invited to magical dinner. It was such a unique and intimate moment for us and our families, just before the craziness of the wedding."

אליסה אפל, בת 33 ממנהטן, ארה"ב

גם אליסה הכירה את בעלה דרך האינטרנט והם התארסו במהלך טיול להוואי. הם התחתנו כעבור שנה במיקום חלומי, על מרגלות הרי אדירונדק (שנמצאים בגן הלאומי של מדינת ניו-יורק), אליהם נהגה לטייל עם משפחתה בכל קיץ כשהיתה ילדה. כשהחלו לתכנן את החתונה, לא היה ספק בלבה שזהו המקום המושלם לארח את 114 המוזמנים שלהם, בסוף שבוע קסום במיוחד.

Alissa Appel, 33, Manhattan, USA

Alissa met her husband through the Internet and they got engaged during a trip to Hawaii. They married a year later at the Whiteface Lodge in the Adirondack Mountains (located in the National Park of the State of New York), where she used to vacationed every summer when she was growing up. When she started planning her wedding, she had no doubt that this would be the perfect place to celebrate their love on one magical weekend, together with 114 invited guests.

"השמלה שלבשתי עוצבה על ידי תיאה (Theia), בחרתי בשמלה פשוטה עם הרבה טול. רציתי שהתכשיטים שאענוד יהיו עדינים ושיתאימו באופן מושלם לשמלה שלי. אני אוהבת מאוד את התכשיטים של שלומית ועגילי אימאן היו בדיוק מה שחיפשתי! תכשיט ייחודי בסגנון מערבי ועם נגיעה של וינטאג'. הוספתי סיכה תואמת לשיער ואת הטול (שהיה ניתן להסרה) חיברתי לשמלה עם סיכה דומה בגב. בחרתי בנעלי עקב ורודות (כי יותר-מדי-לבן זה פשוט משעמם מדי) והמראה הסופי היה עדין ויפה."  

What did you wear?

"My dress was designed by Theia. I chose a simple dress with lots of tulle. I wanted my jewelry to be delicate, stylish, and perfectly paired to my dress. I love Shlomit Ofir’s designs and the Iman Earrings were EXACTLY what I was looking for: between vintage, eastern, and very unique. My gown had a tulle train sewn onto it, but I customized it by making it removable, and adding the Venice Broach in the back as a focal point. I wore pink heels (because too much white is boring!) and the final look was very gentle and beautiful."

"הכי נהניתי לתכנן את החתונה. בעבר עבדתי כמארגנת אירועים, אז ידעתי בדיוק מה לעשות וכל דבר נבחר בקפידה- מסידור הפרחים ועד למוזיקה שהתנגנה ברקע. אהבתי מאוד את טקס החופה שלנו. טיילנו בישראל כמה חודשים קודם לכן וקיבלתי השראה מטקס החופה של חברים שלנו. הרעיון של כולם עומדים מסביבנו- מעגל קרוב והדוק- בעודנו מחליפים את הנדרים שלנו, קסם בעיניי."

What did you enjoy the most about your wedding day?

"I really enjoyed planning our wedding. I used to work as an event planner, so everything about my wedding was carefully selected, from the flowers, to every song that played. I loved our ceremony; We had traveled to Israel a few months before our wedding and were really inspired by our friends’ chuppah ceremony. The idea of everyone standing around us—a close knit circle—as we exchanged our vows, was so magical in my opinion."

איילה גני, בת 29 מבוסטון, ארה"ב

את בן-זוגה, הכירה איילה בצבא. היא היתה חיילת והוא היה יועץ ולאחר התכתבויות אינסופיות במיילים, הוא סופסוף הזמין אותה לצאת לשתות ביחד. רק לאחר תקופה הם גילו, שכעוד היה בצבא, הם שירתו באותו בסיס סגור ולא היו מודעים כלל זה לזו. הם התחתנו בטקס אזרחי, בהשתתפות רבנית חילונית מקסימה. את הכתובה הם מילאו בטקסטים אישיים שהם כתבו זו לזה וגם האירוע היה שונה- קודם אירוע צהריים עם המשפחה (ובמהלכו הטקס) ולאחר מכן, מסיבה עם החברים. 

Ayala Geni, 29, Boston, USA

Ayala met her life partner in the army. She was a soldier and he was a consultant and after endless e-mails correspondence, he finally asked her out for a drink. Only after a while together, they found out that when he was still in the army, they served at the same place but were unaware of each other. They were married in a civil ceremony, which was held by a female, secular rabbi. They filled their Kettubah with personal texts they wrote to each other and the entire event was very different- First they had lunch with their families (during that time, they held the ceremony). After that, they had a fun party with their friends.

What did you wear?

"I wore a Alon Livne dress I found in a fundraiser, shoes by Roni Kantor and jewelry by Shlomit. I love Shlomit's jewelry style and I've been a loyal client for years. The pieces of jewelry I chose were exactly what I was looking for- gentle but with a presence. I bought the necklace before the wedding because I fell in love with it, and the earrings I purchased later, when it was legitimate to buy bridal jewelry..."

"הכי נהניתי מכך שיכולנו לעצב את האירוע המשמעותי בחיינו באופן שהכי תאם לאופי שלנו ולמה שרצינו. בנוסף, ההרגשה המופלאה של להיות מוקף באנשים ששמחים בשמחתנו ורוצים לחגוג איתנו מדהימה בעיניי. הכי התרגשתי מהפרטים הקטנים- סרטון שאחותי ובעלה הכינו לנו עם שלל ברכות מכל המקומות שאנחנו אוהבים (כולל ברכה משלומית והצוות!), עוגה מיוחדת שהכנתי בעצמי וטקסט שבן זוגי כתב לכתובה, אותו הלחין ושר במיוחד בשבילי."

What did you enjoy the most about your wedding day?

"I enjoyed the fact that we were able to create the most exciting event in our lives in a way that matchs our state of mind. In addition, the wonderful feeling of being surrounded by people who are truly happy for us and want to celebrate our joyful day together was so amazing. I was very touched by the small details- a video clip made by my sister and her husband, filled with greetings from all the places and people we love (including a blessing from Shlomit and her staff!); A special cake I made by myself; And unique words, written and composed by my partner, who sang it for me at our wedding."

רקפת לורבר, בת 33, ממודיעין

את יניב, בעלה, הכירה רקפת כאשר למדו יחד באותה הכיתה בתיכון, אך לא היו אז ניצוצות ביניהם. "ממש לא הסתכלנו אחד על השניה", היא מספרת בחיוך. 12 שנה לאחר מכן, הם נפגשו מחוץ לבר בתל-אביב והתאהבו. הם התחתנו לפני כשנתיים, בחתונה שמחה ומיוחדת, אליה הוזמנו כ-300 חברים ובני משפחה.

Rakefet Lorber, 33, Modi'in

Rakefet met her husband, Yaniv, when they went to the same high school class, but there were no sparks between them. "We didn't even look at each other", she says with a smile. 12 years later, they met outside a bar in Tel Aviv and they fell in love entirely. They got married in a joyful wedding, with 300 family and friends.

What did you wear?

"The moment I saw Shlomit's earrings, I knew they were a perfect match for my wedding dress. I added a bracelet I borrowed from my sister-in-law and it completed the look entirely."

"הכי נהניתי שהצלחנו לשלב בתוך החתונה פרטים קטנים, שהם מאוד אנחנו- ריקוד מיוחד שרקדנו ובו מספר סגנונות ריקוד, סרטון שאבא של יניב צייר ואח שלי הפיק, אשר מתאר את סיפור ההכרות שלנו, הזמנת החתונה שעוצבה ע"י חברה שלי ועוד. הכי ריגש אותי כשבבוקר החתונה, התארגנתי בבית הוריי ושתי המשפחות הגיעו למפגש ביני לבין יניב, כולל הכלב שלנו, ג'יימס. כך הפך יום החתונה שלי להיות יום קסום שייזכר תמיד."

What did you enjoy the most about your wedding day?

"I enjoyed that we managed to incorporate small details, which are meaningful to us; We dance a special dance in several styles; We had a video clip, created by Yaniv's father and produced by my brother, which tells the story of how we met; A wedding invitation that was designed by a friend of mine and more. I was very touched by the fact that in the morning of our wedding, I got getting ready at my parents' place and two families came to meet me and Yaniv and our dog, James, came along. That is how my wedding day became to be such a magical day that will be remembered for years to come."

אלה רינות-תאנה, בת 29, תל-אביב

את אפי, בעלה, הכירה אלה דרך חברה משותפת. הם התחתנו לפני כשנתיים בבוסתן אבו גוש ליד ירושלים. החתונה היתה גדולה ושמחה וכללה כ- 600 אורחים. האווירה המיוחדת של הבוסתן, עם הגפנים הרבים והצמחייה הענפה, לכדה את עיניה מיד. "לא בדקנו מקומות אחרים כי היה ברור שזה המקום שבו נתחתן", היא מספרת. 

Ella Rinot- Teena, 29, Tel Aviv

Ella met Efi, her husband, through a mutual friend. They got married two years ago in a beautiful Location, Bustan Abu Ghosh near Jerusalem. The wedding was big and happy and included 600 guests.The unique vibe of the vineyard, with the grapes and greenery immediately caught her eyes. "We didn't have to check anywhere else, we knew it was the perfect place for us to get married", she tells.

What did you wear?

"The dress was designed by Yoav Rish and the yellow shoes I bought from Shani Bar. I was looking for a pair of earrings that would match my dress and my personal style. I wanted a design that would have a presence without having to "steal" the focus from my dress. My sister wore Shlomit's earrings and they matched her look perfectly."

"הכי נהניתי משלב הריקודים- שהמתח של טקס החופה ירד, היה אפשר לחגוג עם כל האורחים, שעשו לנו הרבה שמח ובזכותם היה זה ערב מהנה ומיוחד, שאזכור תמיד." 

What did you enjoy the most about your wedding day?

I enjoyed dancing with everyone. The tension of the ceremony went down, I was able to celebrate with all of our guests and it was so much fun! thanks to our amazing family and friends, my wedding was such a special day, I'll always remember.

Our wedding, Part 2

אמנם עבר כבר חודש, אבל אין יום מושלם יותר לספר על החתונה שלנו, מאשר ט"ו באב.

כשהחלטנו להתחתן, היה ברור לנו שאנחנו רוצים לעשות את זה בדרך שלנו. לא משהו מפואר, אלא אירוע נעים ורגוע, באווירה קלילה ולא מחייבת, שישקף את האופי שלנו ושכולם יהנו ממנו - גם אנחנו וגם האורחים.
לכן החלטנו להתחתן ביום שישי אחה"צ, בלי רב, אבל עם טקס שערכה חברה טובה, בזמן שבו אנשים רגועים ויכולים להינות מהאירוע בלי הגבלת זמן, בלי לנהוג הביתה מאוחר מידי ולקום מוקדם מידי בבוקר. בנוסף, אירוע שמתחיל באור יום והמסיבה שלו נמשכת אל שעות הלילה, התאים בדיוק לאווירה הקלילה שרצינו ליצור. 
ברגע הראשון שראינו את המקום - "חגיגה בכפר" בכפר הס, היה ברור לנו שזה המקום בשבילנו. הוא הרגיש לנו כמו להתחתן בחצר הבית, רק שהחצר שלהם הרבה יותר גדולה ויפה ומהרגע שראיתי את סידורי הפרחים המדהימים שרונית, מבעלות המקום, מעצבת, היה ברור סופית שזה זה. התאריך היחיד שהיה פנוי והתאים לנו נפל על יום ההולדת של אביב, אבל החלטנו לא לוותר, ובהמשך תראו למה זה אפילו השתלם לו :)

הקונספט שבחרתי לעיצוב האירוע היה של מסיבת גן קסומה, באווירה אביבית, צבעונית ושמחה. באור היום, תשומת הלב ניתנה לסידורי הפרחים, לדגלונים ולשאר הפרטים ואילו בחושך, הואר הגן בעשרות מנורות צבעוניות שגנבו את ההצגה.

בהתחלה, אביב, למעשה, היה מוכן לוותר על האירוע באופן כללי ולא ממש הרגיש צורך לעשות עניין מהסיפור. אני, לעומת זאת, לא הייתי מוכנה לוותר על סיבה למסיבה ועל ההזדמנות לארח את החברים והמשפחה שלנו, הזדמנות שמייצרת צידוק להרבה מאוד פרוייקטים יצירתיים.

במשך החודשים שקדמו לחתונה הפך הבית שלנו למעין סדנא מאולתרת, שבה תפרנו דגלונים, חתכנו שפמים, קשרנו סרטים, צבענו פחיות ועוד ועוד. את רוב הדברים עשיתי בעצמי, אך יש לציין שאביב התגייס ועזר בהכל, תוך שהוא שואל את עצמו מי זו האשה המשוגעת שאיתה בחר להתחתן (חירור אלפי עיגולים כדי ליצור קונפטי בדיוק כמו שאני רוצה, היה כנראה נקודת השיא). יחד עם זאת, גם לו היו כמה רעיונות מוצלחים במיוחד, כמו למשל החתמת המפיות בלוגו האיילים שהופיע על ההזמנה שלנו ואיפשהו במהלך הדרך גם הוא נדבק בהתלהבות.
במשך הזמן גם התחילו להגיע לדירה שלל הדברים שהזמנתי - שרשראות מנורות צבעוניות, מניפות נייר, קשים מפוספסים ועוד ועוד.

It's been a month since my last post, but the Jewish Valentine's Day is celebrated in Israel today and it's the perfect timing to tell you about our wedding.

When we decided to get married, it was clear to us that we want to do it our way. Nothing too fancy, just a calm and pretty event, in a light an non-obligating atmosphere, that will reflect on our character and would allow both our guests and ourselves to enjoy our time. That's why we picked Friday afternoon, with no Rabbi, but with a meaningful ceremony conducted by a good friend, at a time when our guests can relax without having to worry about driving home late or waking up early next morning.

In addition, an event that starts at daylight and drifts on to a party that lasts until late night fit just perfectly with the lighthearted atmosphere we wanted to create. 

The first time we visited the place we were thinking of getting married in, we fell in love with it, it's called (in translation) "a country celebration". It felt like getting married in our back yard, only their yard is prettier and larger. When I saw the flower bouquets they make, we knew this was it. The only date they had open on their calender was Aviv's birthday, but we decided to go ahead with it, and later you'll find why he even benefitted from this...

The concept I chose for the event decor was that of a magical outdoor party, with a colorful joyous atmosphere. At daylight the attention went to the flower arrangements, the flag garland decoartions and additional details, while in the dark the garden was lit up with hundreds of colorful lights that stole the show. 
In the beginning, Aviv was actually ready to give up the idea of hosting this event and didn't feel the need to make a big deal out of it. I, on the other hand, was not ready to give up the chance to throw a good party and to host our friends and family, which gave me a great excuse for many creative projects. 
In the months of preparation for the wedding, our apartment was turned into an improvised workshop, in which we sewed flag garlands, cut out mustaches, tied ribbons, painted cans, etc. I did most of the projects myself, but I have to point out that Aviv joined in and helped with everything, while asking himself who is this crazy woman that he chose to marry (punching out thousands of little circles to create confetti just the way I like it, was probably the peak point). Nevertheless, he had some really good ideas of his own, like stamping napkins with the deer logo that we used on our invitation, and somewhere down the road my excitement stuck to him as well.
At some point all the things I ordered had arrived by mail - colorful lantern garlands, paper fans, striped straws and many more.  

היה חשוב לי לעשות כל מה שאפשר בעצמי וכך יצא שהיו לנו 7 חודשים מהנים ויצירתיים במיוחד ויום אחד מושלם, שבו הכל התחבר.

It was really important for me to make everything handmade by me, and so we had 7 joyful and creative months and 1 perfect day, in which everything came together.

בבוקר החתונה זכיתי להיות מוקפת חברות - חברות קרובות שבאו להעביר איתי את היום (ודאגו לנשנושים שווים במיוחד) אבל גם ענבל מסאס המאפרת וטלי דברת מהצמד טלי ודבורה צילום, הצלמות שלנו, שתיהן חברות אישיות שלי. אליהן הצטרף גיא סמואל מעצב השיער.

In the morning of the big day I was lucky to be circled by friends - my best friends that came to spend the day with me (and made some really good food to go with it), the fabulous makeup artist Inbal Masas and Tali Dovrat, the photographer from Tali & Dvora Photography, both my friends. They were joined by Guy Samuel, the hairdresser.

בחרתי בתסרוקת קלילה עם צמות קלועות ושזרנו בה פרחים טבעיים, מתוך מגוון הפרחים ששזרתי בזר שלי.

I selected a lighthearted hairdo with braids, which were decorated with natural flowers from my bridal bouquet. 

מתוך המבחר הבלתי נגמר כמעט של התכשיטים שלי, בחרתי בפריטים האלה, שהרגישו לי שיקיים, אלגנטיים והתאימו מאוד לעלים שעל גבי השמלה שלי.

It was hard to select my bridal jewelry from the (almost) endless variety of my collection, but I finally chose these pieces, that felt chic, elegant and complemented the leaf design on my dress. 

מתחת לשמלה בחרתי לנעול את נעלי מיה בגוון שמנת מתוך הקולקציה שלי ובשלב הריקודים החלפתי לנעליים בגוון אקווה, כי איך אפשר בלי?..

For shoes, I chose Mia High Heels in cream from my collection and switched to aqua sandals (how could I have skipped that?!) when we started dancing. 

את השמלה המקסימה עיצב יואב ריש והיא היתה בדיוק מה שרציתי - שיקית, מיוחדת ומרשימה, אבל יחד עם זאת קלילה ולא מתאמצת.

My beautiful dress was designed by Yoav Rish and was exactly what I had wanted it to be - chic, unique and impressive, but at the same light,airy and not pompous. 

את הזר שזרתי בעצמי,  בעזרת פרחים שאספתי ב-4 חנויות שונות , יום לפני החתונה, עד שהצלחתי להגיע לכל הפרחים האהובים עלי, שיצרו שילוב  מושלם של צבעים וצורות.

I arranged my flower bouquet myself, using flowers I collected from 4 different shops a day before he wedding, until I found my favorite flowers which created the perfect combination of shapes and colors. 

  

את השולחן בכניסה קנינו בחנות יד שניה ואמא שלי צבעה אותו. עליו הצבנו מזוודה עם כרטיסים, מעטפות ועטים ולצידה - שני איילים מעץ וגלובוס ישן.

The reception table at the entrance was purchased in a vintage shop and my mom painted it. We decorated it with a small suitcase with cards, envelopes and pens, as well as two deer that were cut of wood and a vintage globe.

את מספרי השולחנות חתכנו בלייזר מדיקט שצופה בטפט.

The table numbers were laser cut from plywood and covered with wallpaper.

לצד הרחבה חיכה לאורחים שולחן ממתקים מושקע. בחתונה היו הרבה מאוד ילדים, כך שהוא התחסל מהר מאוד...

By the dance floor we placed a colorful sweets table. Many of our guests had kids and they couldn't resist the temptation, so the candy was swiped away pretty soon...

לצד הרחבה גם כן, מיקמנו photobooth ובו רקע מפוספס והמון אביזרים על מקלות. האורחים שהצטלמו קיבלו במתנה מגנט בצורת פולארויד.

On another side of the dance floor we set up a photobooth with a striped background and lots of accessories I cut out of cardboard, glued to wooden sticks. The guests had a lot of fun and got a polaroid shaped magnet. 

את רחבת החופה קישטנו בעשרות כדורי נייר, רקע מפיסות בדים וסידורי פרחים מקסימים ששזרה נורית, חברה של אימי.

The ceremony floor was decorated with a bunch of colorful paper lanterns, a background curtain made of fabric pieces and beautiful flower arrangements in mason jars, that my mom's friend made for us. 

את הכתובה כתבנו בעצמנו ואיירתי וצבעתי בצבעי מים.

We wrote our Ketubah (the Jewish document of vows) by ourselves and I decorated it with watercolors.

חששנו שיהיה חם, אז הכנו לאורחות מניפות נייר יפות. בסוף היה מזג אוויר מושלם, אך הן עדיין תפקדו כאביזר נחמד.

We planned for a hot day, so we prepared elegant fans for the lady guests. The weather ended up being gorgeous, but the fans did the job as a cute accessory. 

את טקס החופה כתבנו אנחנו, והוא נערך על ידי החברה שהכירה ביננו. לקחו בו חלק האנשים הקרובים והאהובים עלינו.

We prepared the marriage ceremony ourselves and it was conducted by our mutual and good friend who introduced between us when it all began. 

לאחר הארוחה, הפתיעו אותנו בני המשפחה וחברים עם סרטונים שהכינו עבורנו. אך תוך כדי, התארגנה גם ההפתעה שהכנתי ליום ההולדת של אביב: בזמן הסרטונים חולקו לשולחנות שקיות עם זיקוקים והנחיה להדליק אותם עם סיום התכנית. כשאביב הסתובב לאחר הוא ראה מאות אנשים אוחזים בזיקוקים ושרים לו "היום יום הולדת". אבל החלק שהוא הכי אהב היתה העוגה, שעיצבתי במיוחד עבורו (והוכנה בצורה מושלמת וטעימה ע"י ענת מ-Art Cake) בדוגמת קעקוע יפני, אחד מיני רבים שיש לו. הוא לא הסכים לאף אחד לאכול את הדג ועד היום הוא יושב אצלנו בפריזר.

After the meal, our friends and family surprised us with videos they made for us. And at the same time, the surprise I planned for Aviv was being set up: while the lights were off, sparklers were put out on the tables with instructions to light them at the end of the movies. When Aviv turned around he saw hundreds of people holding the sparklers and singing Happy Birthday. But the part he liked most was the cake, which I designed especially for him (and was perfectly made by Art Cake) in the shape of a Japanese tattoo, one of many that he owns. He didn't let anyone eat the fish and it's still sitting in our freezer.

עם רדת החושך, החתונה המשיכה למסיבת ריקודים שמחה.

When it got dark, the wedding transformed into a happy dance party. 

תודה לכל מי שלקח חלק, שימח, השקיע ועזר (במיוחד אלה שבאו בבוקר החתונה לתלות את כל הקישוטים שהכנו) - החברים, המשפחה וכל מי שמסביב. היה לנו מושלם באמת.

We want to thank everyone who helped and made us happy (especially those who came on the morning to hang up all the decorations we prepared) - our family, friends and all our guests. It really was perfect.
